This book showed a side of Lex that we’ve never seen before and it broke my heart. It was honestly shocking too see Lex so against marriage and love, because of the way he pushed his brothers towards their HEA and helped them with winning over their wives.

Due to a traumatic incident Lex has no trust for people outside his family and few close friends. So this arranged situation isn’t ideal for Lex. As Lex says he trusts his grandmother, but not fully. Going an a self proclaimed mission to see if Raya is actually trustworthy and worthy of being in the family. Lex falls in love instantly, but is denial the whole time.

Raya decided to make the ultimate sacrifice when she agreed to an arranged marriage to save her father’s company. Without even knowing it was Lex she was meant to marry. I have so much respect for Raya. She’s such a loving, ambitious, and brilliant person willing to do anything for her dreams.

Of course it’s not a Catharina Muara book without the drama. I knew Lex’s paranoia and untrust ran deep, but I didn’t think it ran that deep. It honestly hurt to see Lex in that position of loving someone so deeply, but not being able to trust them. I loved that Celeste was the one to help Lex in the end and have him start therapy again. He did such an amazing job of covering his hurt, no one saw through his facade.

I completely understand Raya’s hurt for the surveillance and she has every right to question Lex, but seeing Lex’s background I do feel like she overreacted. I’m in no way shape of form excusing Lex’s actions in the warehouse. That was completely uncalled for and unhinged. But the guilt he felt right after😭😭💔 it really showed just how traumatized he was.

I’m so happy both were able to heal themselves and each other and have their HEA. They are such an amazing team that will do wonders for the world💛

And can we take a moment to recognize and admire the way Catharina puts these small/big connections of the MC in their childhood. She did the same with Luca & Valentine and now with Lex & Raya🫠. And the it being Lex’s grandfather that actually arranged this marriage instead of Grandma Anne was very cute🥺
