Lies of My Monster was an entertaining and angsty dark romance book. This is the second book in the Monster trilogy and picks up immediately after the first book, so I would highly recommend starting that one first.

It is dual POVs of the main characters, Sasha and Kirill, and has some great tropes like, an age gap, close proximity and a secret romance. I would suggest checking the content and trigger warnings before reading just in case.

The overall storyline was angsty and drama-filled. There were a lot of heartbreaking, amusing and sexy moments. I absolutely enjoyed all the tension and angst between Sasha and Kirill, especially after what happened in Russia. I definitely felt that Kirill was a bit too harsh on Sasha at times though.

I also felt like certain side plots were completely forgotten, like Sasha finding her brother or the truth to what happened to her family. This book definitely seemed to have focused more on repairing Sasha and Kirill’s relationship and earning back that trust.

The spice was amazing and one of my favorite parts was Kirill demanded a pet name.

The last few chapters were a rollercoaster of emotions. There were parts that absolutely made me tear up and that cliffhanger, I have no words! There’s a lot more to Sasha and Kirill’s story and I cannot wait to find out what’s a lie and the truth in the final book.
