I don’t even know how to accurately describe this book. It was dense. It was emotional. It was an adventure. That’s the best way I know how to describe it. Much like the last book, there are so many pieces I’m excited to see puzzled out in the next book. There were surprising revelations and moments that left me scratching my head, re-reading passages, and even referencing back to Powerless at times. The banter was amazing. The writing is captivating and I, much like in Powerless, love all the travel. Also, I noticed it more in this book than I did in Powerless, but Kai’s POV rarely happens when I thought it would.

They were very intentional chapters, and I appreciated how much thought Roberts put behind them. I also love how you can tell a lot about the characters and their emotions in just the names they use for each other at any given moment. The slow burn is sllllooowwww, and their romantic moments didn’t happen when or how I thought they would most chapters, either. It made them all the better, and I’m looking forward to their Happily Ever After very much. Overall, nicely done!
